What if Crystal Lake Library asked Santa for a mascot? How about a lion, since the high schools have claimed most of the other wild animals that are fun to dress up? And no, fish are not fun to dress up, so forget about it all you lake lovers. This may take a letter writing campaign to Santa. Include this picture with your letter.
Yesterday, December 17th, the Crystal Lake Kiwanis Club and the Crystal Lake Park District installed a Little Free Library for the community at Crystal Lake's Main Beach. Thanks go out to the Friends of the Crystal Lake Library for donating the books and to the Little Free Library carpenters, Bill Dysart and Brad Knebel.

Happy Holidays! This month, FOCLL's social meeting will be a time to celebrate good food, great conversation and the gift of Friendship. We will meet in the back room at Colonial Cafe & Ice Cream on Monday, December 15. Space is reserved from 6:30pm on, so come when you can.
This will be an opportunity to share your ideas for design aspects of a new library that would particularly support FOCLL's purpose as a fundraising and educational entity. We are being asked to contribute our wishes, so lets dream big!
For help in dreaming, check out some of the document links in the FAQ section of the CLPL website.
Q. What's happening with the Library building project?

Every home, book store or library should have a reading loft like this one!
Thanks, Julie, for finding this awesome idea!
The hugs are meant to be random act of kindness, a selfless act performed just to make others feel better. This year’s International Free Hugs Day is celebrated today, Dec 4. So, get out there and hug somebody, and if you run out of people and pets, hug a book!
